Alma, WI (May 22, 2024) – One person was killed after being hit by a train on May 21 in the town of Alma.


The sheriff's office said one victim was pronounced dead at the scene, located near Melrose. The name of the individual wasn't released pending notification of family. Several fire and EMS departments, including Merrillan, Alma Center, and Black River Falls, assisted the sheriff's office at the crash site. Witnesses were asked to contact officers with the Alma Police Department if they had additional information.
